Love is Found at The Least Expected Moments...

Matt and Devon took a picture together on February 13th, 2016 at a regional training event Matt was speaking at in Saint Paul, MN. Devon had no idea that tagging him in a photo on Instagram would lead to marriage 8 years later...

After being tagged in the photo, Matt followed Devon and for the next two years watched her journey as she pursued nursing school. After more than two years of the occasional “Happy Birthday” or “Merry Christmas” message, Matt decided to pursue Devon romantically.

In April, 2018, Devon sent Matt her phone number. The two instantly connected, resulting in a 3 hour Facetime call, that then led to a Facetime every morning and night for the next month no matter where Matt was in the world. Devon flew down to see Matt for the first time since 2016 in May of 2018, and it was clear that they had an undeniable love for each other.

In the fall of 2018, Devon fearlessly moved across the country, got dually licensed in MN and Texas as a nurse, worked her first preoperative job, traveled the world with Matt, and lived with her Grandma Adele in the beginning months of her move to Texas. 

In January of 2019 Matt introduced his children Zara, Angelina, and Kaiden to Devon at an arcade called "Nickelmania" and gracefully eased the idea of her in their life from that point moving forward.

They will both admit, the beginning was a little rocky as Matt had no intentions of re-marrying anytime soon after his previous divorce. Matt’s reluctance to commit led to a breakup for a few months, but he knew the connection he had with Devon was something truly special and the two were reunited.

The best love stories are filled with learning to love each other through hardships, forgiving, and giving second chances when you know its worth it. The challenges in the early days and learning to truly understand one another, have fostered the unconditional love and acceptance they now share. 

Their relationship has continued to thrive through the pandemic of 2020 and they have supported one another as Devon pursued being a new aesthetic nurse injector, to then open her own business in 2021, and while Matt has launched two new companies.

Despite the tests that they were given, Matt and Devons love for each other has remained strong. They were able to recreate light from the dark, and to change the narrative of their pasts by choosing to love each other in the present. Through acknowledging the strength of their deep love for each other, they have committed to spending the rest of their lives together.  

Matt proposed to Devon on Christmas Day, 2022. Playing charades in her Grandma Mimi's living room, Devon pulled a piece of paper out of the jar that said, "Devon, will you marry me?" to then find Matt on one knee with her family behind him. She of course said yes, and this marks the moment their love made a lifelong commitment.

Matt and Devon's love has given them both certainty and happiness which they are so excited to celebrate in July 2024 with you. We hope you will join them in matrimony as they commit to serving God who gifted them this beautiful love, raising 3 children together, pursuing new and exciting adventures, and forever expanding the love they share with each other.
